Partnerships with French and foreign institutions

The ESEN aims to develop an educational cooperation strategy and is developing a network of partners in France and Europe to this end.

Founded in May 2005 at the initiative of the ESEN, the European exchange network mainly aims to contribute to improving the training of European managers, particularly senior management, by analysing and comparing priorities, problems and practices.

The 3rd annual meeting was held in June 2007 at Boppard, in Germany (Rhineland-Palatinate).

In 2008, the European conference "The governance and performance of schools in Europe" provided the opportunity for network members to discuss the key issue of governance and the leadership of schools with all European Union countries.

In 2009, the network included institutions specialised in the training of school directors and/or inspectors in 9 countries:

• Germany: IFB Rheinland-Pfalz and Amt für Lehrerbildung Hessen (AFL) – (Land of Hessen) – websites in German;
• England: National College for School leadership and Child's care - site in English;
• Bulgaria: National Institute for Training School Managers - (no site);
• Scotland: Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIE). - site in English;
• France: École supérieure de l'éducation nationale (ESEN);
• Italy: Agencia nazionale per lo Slivuppo dell' autonomia scolastica - site in Italian;
• The Netherlands: VO – Raad - site in Dutch;
• Poland: Ozrodek Rozwoju Edukacji - site in Polish;
• Sweden: Skolverket - site in Swedish and English

New partner:

• SICI (Standing International Conference of Inspectorates).
  Initiatives launched with the SICI in 2010: hosting of the Executive Committee at the ESEN, participation of French inspectors at the topical "workshops" of the SICI in Europe.

- two initiatives in the context of European programs: EuroMoove and Study visits;
- a training program (colloquium) for foreign managers in France;
- meetings with foreign delegations visiting the CIEP.

Consideration of how to simplify professional training periods abroad for inspectors and to improve the distribution of information to managers on European exchange programs (in coordination with DAREIC).

Cooperation aiming to improve the linguistic skills of French managers in the education system during their training.
