The ESEN contributes to the promotion of French expertise in the field of education - abroad - by proposing programs, training and support modules for academic managers at local and national level.

ESEN's main areas of international expertise are as follows:
Types of actions
Hosting foreign delegations
ESEN hosts delegations of senior managers from foreign education ministries on request, in order to present and promote its skills and specific areas of expertise.
These visits provide the opportunity for ESEN to promote its expertise in training education managers and often result in cooperation projects.
Training foreign education managers at ESEN
These training programmes, formulated on request and based on the specifications stipulated by the country of origin, are designed to meet the needs of the people involved.
These are short-term programmes (lasting from several days to three weeks) and respond to requests from institutions rather than individuals. They are often an integral part of larger projects, involving a collaboration with the culture department of the French Embassies.
Involvement in larger cooperation projects
These operations form part of bilateral or multilateral projects, in response to calls for tender launched by international institutions or sponsors. They may be organised in partnership with other operators, such as the Centre International d'Études Pédagogiques (CIEP), at ESEN and/or on site.
